Remote computer access (What controls the speed)?
I am looking to upgrade to a more powerful machine so I could edit HD video more efficiently. I am deciding whether I want to buy a desktop or a more expensive gamer laptop.
Here’s the question: If I were to buy a powerful, 6GB of ram desktop and access it remotely using my cheap 1GB laptop, does that mean I will be experiencing programs at the desktop speed (the server) or the laptop speed (the viewer)?
By the way, I plan on using the free RealVNC software.
Thanks in advance.
your 1GB laptop wont have any problems Viewing, the Powerful PC will be doing the computing and your laptop will be ‘watching’ through the internet!
Though, keep in mind that a slow internet connection will affect RealVNC, there will be a much bigger delay, and I wouldn’t try to watch a movie/listen to music through a remote desktop utility unless you have an amazing connection to the Desktop
realVNC 4.1.3 free (server side)
